Scenario 1 – Making Rude Jokes: Anthony works in vacation care at your service. At lunchtime he tells you a really racist joke.
Explain why it is an unethical practice for Anthony to make jokes that are rude or degrading towards a group of people.

The setting of the job and the responsibility conferred on the worker make it especially a matter of concern.
One of the core principles of community work is that practitioners work to a code that specifically requires the acknowledgement and protection of human rights and human dignity - racist jokes undermine this principle.
