Comforting An Infant/Toddler That Has Hurt Themselves

Post by trishahall14 » Mon Feb 13, 2017 7:38 pm

Question: What can you do to comfort or support an infant or toddler that has hurt themself.

Answer: to provide support and comfort to a child who has injured their self, you would hold them and use soothing techniques such as rocking, side to side swaying, cooing to soothe the child. You would then inspect their injury and use your first aid training to clean the area and correctly treat the area.

Am I on the right track?

Yes, let them know that they will be alright, inspect the injury to make sure it's OK and provide first aid if required, give them a cuddle...
