Re: CHCORG506E - Assessment Strategy 1 - Questions
Well I have decided to start with the basics as my approach to this question: Starting with the simple question, what is practice? Simply put, a practice can refer to an activity, strategy, methodology, system, process, technique, tactic,or approach. For example, a youth-serving mentoring organization may discover that utilizing online social
networking sites to recruit mentors or electing youth ambassadors to sit on the organization’s board of directors are both effective practices or a child care provider my discover that retraining of staff on service policies and procedures every three months is effective practice.Definitions and standards around what constitutes an effective practice vary throughout child care centres or educators. You may consider revisiting your personal philosophy and service philosophy to identify what constitutes effective practice. That said potential benefits are many but not limited to;
1- Meeting National Quality standards
2-Best outcomes for children and familiesWhy Identify Effective Practices?
3-Improved quality of services offered to clients
4-Improved use of resources by avoiding “reinventing the wheel”
5-Identification and replacement of poor practices with proven strategies and programs
6-Increased knowledge and understanding of best practice and consequently increased performance from management and staff.
I hope this sets you in the right direction.
Cheers!

-Verbal and written information -- including texts and social networking posts -- photos and video; child enrolment records; child assessment records; information on children's health and medical conditions; information about families/ individual children and other staff members and information about your employer.
