Hi,
How are we all going today. I have a quick question (well hopefully quick anyway). I have been working at a childcare centre for the last year and a bit and I have recently taken over the position as the Schoolies room leader. I am wanting to write a letter to the parents to inform them that I am going to be the new room leader for their children but I am struggling with what to write and would love some ideas and suggestions. So far I have got;
Dear parents,
I am writing a quick letter to inform you that as of today (Monday the 3rd of August) I, (my name here) will be the room leader for the Schoolies program. If you have any questions or ideas regarding the program feel free to talk to me about this. I look forward to planning a fun and exciting program for the children to learn through....
I am just unsure as it doesn't sound right to me.
Any ideas/suggestions would be greatly appreciated
Thanks Haylee

Re: Letter To Parents
Hi Haylee,
That's a great idea! I think it's a good way of letting the parents know who you are and opens up communication between you and the parents!
Maybe something also like:
"For those of you who have seen me around, I've been working in the (previous room) and now I am very lucky to move up to the Schoolies Room. I have many ideas I would like to incorporate such as (mention any ideas) and I'm so eager to get started. I'm looking forward to getting your child ready for big school and prepare them as they move on from here"
"I will love to get to know your family and I will ensure that I speak to each one of you each afternoon about your child's day. If you have any questions feel free to speak to me and I'll be happy to assist you"
You could also add an introduction about yourself such as your qualification, why you enjoy working at the centre etc. Doesn't have to be very long such a couple of paragraphs...
Hope this helps,

Re: Letter To Parents
You could also add a little tear off slip at the bottom that parents could fill in their email address so you can email them any forms of communication and also give your work email (if you have one) and the best time to contact you during the day such as on your break or in the afternoon when it's not busy...

Re: Letter To Parents
Awesome!
Another idea you could do for you in the room, is to do a collage of yourself with things about you which you can display in the room. So, you could do a photo of you in the middle of an A4 piece of cardboard, then around it of places/holidays you have been, your partner, pets, children, etc. Just a fun way to share a little bit about yourself... You could also get the other educators in the room to do it as well which can be all be displayed together.
