4.4a Discuss how you would encourage children to participate in a variety of experiences – especially if they preferred one particular activity.
This is my attempted answer
I would start at an activity (eg, building blocks, weights on a scale) and ask the child if they would like to help me – then encourage them when they participate
If they don’t look like they understand, explain the activity
I would also make sure that the room and outdoor area have a variety of different experiences for the children, and incorporate any that the children have asked about (if they say they’d like a bike track, talk about what we might need to achieve/ build it)
The answer I'm thinking of adding would be along the lines of 'extending and building on the activities the child has shown preference to'
I'm out of ideas and have read both diploma and cert 3 books trying to help with my answer
Any help in the right direction would be really appreciated

Re: Encouraging Children To Participate In A Variety Of Experiences
Maybe you could also incorporate their preferred activity into a new one. So, if a child likes playing with play dough for example, you could add play dough different to do experiences to enable them to play. So, instead of having play dough just on the play dough table, maybe you could incorporate it into home corner for kitchen play as well.
