Career in childcare

Post by trish73 » Tue Jul 05, 2022 9:04 am

Hi,
I have been working as a casual childcare educator at the same centre for nearly two years. I have not been offered a permanent position and other casual educators who have worked in a shorter time are offered permanent positions and don't need to be interviewed. I applied for a full-time role and I been asked to attend an interview. A part of me wished I was offered a permanent position and I think why they want to interview me when I have been working there for nearly two years and other new educators don't need to go for an interview.

That seems strange... you would think that since you've already been working there for 2 years, you would be the top choice for a more permanent role. It's ok though since you know the ins and outs of the centre the interview should be pretty easy for you and you can base it on the experiences you've already had at the centre.

Thank you, I had my interview today, plus a few other people did as well.
Going to wait to see how I go 🤞
