Reflect On Transitions

Post by Silbrown » Sat Sep 17, 2016 3:00 pm

Hello, everyone, I am at leat ! finishing the workbook 5 has been time-consuming and a lot to process but went well I hope.

I have a question about this exercise when I make the examples of the 2 transitions I don't now how to do and what to write or reflect on your transition
this an example of one of my transitions. I really I appreciate any input thank you! Silvina

Children are playing in the jumping castle outside

I let them know they have 10 more minutes and we will go inside to make a new activity,) children wanted to stay in the jumping castle a bit longer ) so I gave them an extra 5 minutes

When finishing the outdoor activity To help in the transition from outdoor to indoor, I throw a rope from outside to the beginning of our playroom. (appr. 10ft). And I ask them who want to make this adventure with me while we are going inside? They all yell out me ! Me!

I then tell the kids we're walking on the bridge over hot lava or a swamp filled with alligators. They really go along with balancing and getting to the other side without falling off the bridge. The playroom is the "safe" zone. Children who already pass the ¨Danger zone¨ encourage and yell to the ones who didn´t come on! And I as I was the first to do it role modelling the activity, I encourage the children, with a goo for it! You are a brave warrior!

When all the children are ¨safe¨ ask for help to pull the rope to the safe side and put it away.
We all have a group hug as we were all safe! At least, Thank you children! We are all safe now! Let´s go...

How ell did the transition go?

How did the children react to the transition?

What would you change/improve/ add etc.
