Develop Cultural Competence CHCECE001 - Culturally Inclusive

Post by catnap » Mon Mar 27, 2017 4:23 pm

Hi Lorina,
I am working on Cultural Inclusive practices. Here's a few more questions and what I have attempted so far.....
Answer and describe how an organisation involves or collaborates with ATSI persons or culturally and linguistical diverse persons/groups when planning events, programs, education and care service delivery and organisation development activities?
Does this mean planning events in relation to ATSI persons such as NAIDOC week or Acknowledgement to the country?
Not sure about the part with planning programs, but does this relate to including Aboriginal music, clapping sticks ect - or am I off the wrong track here?
The 2nd question asks how does an organisation provide programs that encourage participation of ATSI person and culturally and linguistically persons? Any links appreciated?
the last one is using appropriate communication methods and language. for eg: appropriate and relevant information communicated through user and culturally friendly mediums? Not sure what mediums means? I am guessing not using jargon ect?
Thanks Lorina!

Ok, so this question is referring to for example if you were to plan an event (NAIDOC WEEK ), how does the organisation involve ATSI persons in the planning process?

- Establishing networks with ATSI diverse organisations.
- Access relevant literature, publication and resources.
- Invite ATSI persons to be on the Management Committee.

Seek information, advice or training.
Participate in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community events and celebrations.

Hope this helps!
