Five Major Childcare Safety Reforms Set to Reshape Australian Early Learning Sector

In a landmark move to strengthen child safety and regulatory oversight, the Australian government is preparing to roll out five major reforms across early childhood education centres. 1. National Staff Register: A national staff register will be established to track childcare workers across the country, with pilot implementation starting in December 2025 and full implementation from February 2026.

5.  Ban on Mobile Phones: A nationwide ban on mobile phones within childcare centres will take effect from September 2025.
