Q1-what are personal beliefs?
A belief is an idea that a person holds as being true.

A personal value is an individual's absolute or relative and ethical value, the assumption of which can be the basis for ethical action. A value system is a set of consistent values and measures. A principle value is a foundation upon which other values and measures of integrity are based.

A manner of thinking, feeling, or behaving that reflects a state of mind or disposition:

Q2-what is cultural competence?
Cultural competence is a set of congruent behaviors, attitudes, and policies that come together in a system, agency or among professionals and enable that system, agency or those professions to work effectively in cross-cultural situations.

Q3-list some experiences an educator could implement to promote children's participation in cultural activities?
1-follow cultural customs such as respectful greetings
2-display signs in different languages
3-employ a variety of staff from cultural background
4-share other people's culture with food days and art displays
5-show positive attitude at work, for example, participating in activities and sharing knowledge with others
6-be willing to learn about how and why people act as they do, including learning about their culture
7-it is important to consult people from other cultures when decisions are being made about new procedures, to make sure the results are culturally suitable
8-recognising the full range of skills and talents of employees, including language and cultural skills
9-capitalising on employees language skills and cultural knowledge to reach and provide improved-quality service to diverse consumers
10-invite community people into the service to run workshops, talks or fun days about various cultures

1-keeping an open mind
2-being alert to the different ways people interact
3-being aware that gender roles may differ in various cultures
4-seeking to understand the rules of diverse ethnic groups
5-being willing to provide information and to encourage and seek input from community groups and individuals
6-being willing to learn and adopt
7-demonstrating consistency
8-demonstrating reliability

Q5-what is inclusion, and what are culturally inclusive practices?
inclusion is the action or state of including or of being included within a group or structure.
A culturally inclusive environment requires mutual respect, effective relationships, clear communication, explicit understandings about expectations and critical self-reflection. In an inclusive environment, people of all cultural orientations can:
1-freely express who they are, their own opinions and points of view
2-fully participate in teaching, learning, work and social activities
3-feel safe from abuse, harassment or unfair criticism

Q6-how can an educator encourage relationships between children at the service from different cultural backgrounds?
1- Get to know families at your ECEC service
2- Be open to different types of families
3- Work to develop positive relationships with families
4- Be thoughtful about communication
