Cultural Competence

Post by Lisa Dawn Churchill » Thu Mar 23, 2017 3:40 pm

Needing some advice on my answers this is what iv'e got so far:

2.Provide five examples of ways you can support children to develop cultural competence.
You could invite someone from an Aboriginal community to come in and spend some time talking about the community and its history. Tell the children stories and teach them some words from the Aboriginal language. Explain to the children that Aboriginals have cared for the land for several years.

A child points out that a different child can’t do something as good as everyone else you need to explain why that is so the child understands. For example: Pakesh can’t speak English well, Is he stupid? Explain to the other child why he can’t speak English very well, Pakesh can’t speak English as well as everyone else because it is not the language he uses at home as he is not from Australia he is from another country.
