CHC30708 - Scenario: Kylie

Post by natalieh » Sun Jul 21, 2013 12:00 pm

Your Assignment Module Number and Heading: CHC30708 Legal and Ethical
Your Assignment Type: Case Scenario
Currently Working in Childcare? Yes
Your knowledge: Basic Knowledge

Your Question?
You are the Assistant in the Preschool room. Kylie is a very quiet and shy child. Lately she has become even more withdrawn and appears anxious during any interaction with you. When working alongside Kylie at the puzzle table, she confides that she is very sad because she accidentally broke her Dad‟s favourite mug and her dad told her she was worthless, should never have been born and was nothing but trouble. Kyle says her father only says “mean things” when he is angry and her mother says it‟s okay because her father never really does anything to hurt her. This type of withdrawal has been reported before.

What is your answer so far or What have you done so far as an attempt to solve this question?
Listen to kylie carefully and show her that you are paying attention make sure you reassure kylie that she’s done the right thing by telling you. Letting kylie know that you can help her but you will need to tell someone else about what has been happened. Documenting what she had said and reporting to director and the CIT (critical incident team).

this was be my handed back to me and ask for more information.
