Your Question?
When applying limits, strategies need to be adapted in accordance with the age/stage of development of the child. Also cultural differences should be taken into account. Describe the different methods that would be appropriate.

What is your answer so far or What have you done so far as an attempt to solve this question?
Different methods that would be appropriate could differ between each culture. For aboriginal/indigenous people I may use Cultural stories, learning morals / modelling behaviour through dreamtime stories. Where as for western children I would use more traditional methods in accordance to western culture.

0-2 - Limits for this age group may include:
Distraction – removal and taking away the toy or problem that the child was reacting over.
2-5 - If a child at this age has gone over the limits in some way. I would sit the child down alone and explain to them what they did. They can sit on a chair away from the activities until they have had some alone time to think about their actions.
There are always verbal limits set on what children should not do.
