Degree costs

Post by Carmen26 » Sun Apr 29, 2012 1:17 pm

Hi all,
I was wondering is someone could please give me a rough estimate of how much it costs to do your Bachelor of Education (Primary) via Online Learning? I know every company is different but would just like to know the average! I am looking at SEEK learning but they won't specify a price until I am ready to sign up (I am currently near completion on my Diploma)

Any input you have would be great!

Thanks :)

I am doing my BEDU (Early Childhood) with USQ and each unit is between $650-750
I do not understand why they won't tell you costs beforehand!!
If you are an Aus Citizen you can get Fee help Hex whatever ... I am a perm res so I have to pay up front.

Yeah I've never had anything to do with University before so I'm glad I asked! Gives me time to look into Fee Help!

These are the prices for the modules from Curtin University through OUA. Not too sure if all modules are the same cost I only checked a couple.

Domestic student fee:
$795.00 (AUD)
HECS student fee:
$706.00 (AUD)
International student fee:
$1,020.00 (AUD)

Also if you want further information on fee help etc check out the centrelink website and most uni courses provide you with info on paying through fee help etc...

My first degree about 3 years ago cost $4000, I am about to finish my second degree and the cost has gone up to $6000.

I used HECS with both degrees and only started paying it off when my income hit more than $40,000 per year. I think I paid about $1500 before the government brought in the HECS/HELP benefit (google for more info) and they have now paid $2500 for the first degree. They will now pay the full amount of my second degree.

The HECS/HELP benefit applies to ECTs - there is 2 benefits: one for gaining employment as an ECT and the other for working in a low income area. Basically I have paid $1500 for 2 ECT degrees that would be worth $10,000.

This years budget they added more postcodes to the low income benefit - It pays to check these things out.
