Collect 5 objects that relate to you as a professional.

I think my first item would be a coffee cup fefe - wouldn't make it through my day as a 'professional' without it LOL
In all seriousness though, perhaps professional literature you use, such as programming books,child theorists or developmental books, EYLF documentation. Still add the coffee cup in, I believe it is a necessity. Camera for capturing learning stories - you could write why observations are important and linked to your professional life. Think about what you need each day in your role - even something as simple as post-it notes (for jotting obs down), pens etc and how this all relates to you.

Interesting assignment...I would also add photos of:

my computer/laptop,
my work desk/work station,
my yearly diary/planner,
my bag of surprises (I have story books, games, cd's, puppets, activities to settle and engage children)
my smile

Hopefully you can get some ideas from here...I wish my assignments were as creative as yours!

Thanks. I wish mine were not so creative. Just threw me because its your perception as yourself and finding objects for that. Using pics of laptop etc seem too obvious.
I mean I perceive myself to be a kind caring yet professional person who learns from others and helps others to learn. How do I find objects that get that across???
Am up at 2 am trying to think of things and still have nothing!!!

OK some of the things I got are

Play dough - because I feel that like play dough I have and continue to mould myself into new things.

Colour pencils and crayons - like the array of colours found in packs of colour pencils and crayons I see myself as a person of many colours. I have experienced many cultures and traditions and bring all that to the classroom with me. Like the colours my room is bright, happy and represents many colours and shades.

The pink tower (a Montessori piece of equipment) - A tower comes across as something strong, powerful and impressive. The colour pink is soft and gentle. I am the strength in the room, I pass my strength and knowledge to my peers and the children. I am also kind, gentle and understanding. The pink tower is a basic piece of equipment that can be used for many purposes.

My laptop - where I read...research and plan. Laptops and computers are sophisticated and efficient. I believe myself to be as efficient as possible when managing time and paperwork as well when finding resources.

So provided these are ok I need one more. Was going to do a plant or something - as I perceive myself to be respectful of the nature and how children grow and that nature is a powerful force and we have to understand the innate nature of a child in order to help him grow.
