A. Yes , because she getting angry to child, it’s emotional abuse.

This situation make children can’t trust people to keep them safe. And they feel scared and unsafe.
As child care worker, she should provide protection for children

Yes, as a carer you have a Duty of Care and must protect the rights of the child at all times and follow the Code of Ethics to ensure you work ethically.




C. Now margaret is very stressful.
So she should talk to other workers,or supervisor what she has problems. And take a break or change the shift .
It effects her ability to work, could be too stressed out and cause mental damage, possibly loose your job over it. And wont be able to maintain and do tasks properly.

Force Feeding
Margaret has been a carer for over 20 years. She would like to retire but needs to keep working for financial reasons.

Today the toddlers have been particularly unsettled, crying, fighting and not wanting to participate in the activities. Margaret is pleased that it is lunch time – not long before everyone who is still up will have a sleep. Ella (17 Months) is a fussy eater at the best of times, but today she is refusing to even try her food. Margaret can feel herself getting angry with Ella as she repeatedly pushes the spoon away from her mouth. Margaret holds Ella’s chin and pushes the spoon into her mouth. Ella spits the food out and begins to scream.
Margaret slams the spoon and bowl on the table, yelling at Ella ‘ Starve then, see if I care1” The other carers look at Margaret in stunned silence.

For this scenario Margaret is physically abusing this child. The actions she did to force the child to eat is unethical as she holds the child's chin down to force food into the child's mouth. Screaming at the child is also inappropriate. Margaret's behavior is unethical in this scenario.

Margaret should talk to the child in a calm voice and encourage the child to eat. If the child continues to refuse then she can offer something else or try a little later.
