ECT award wage QLD

Hi I had a graduate diploma in early childhood studies and im getting paid as level 4.1 educator. I have one year experience but I have been working in different rooms in the centre. Just wondering if Im getting the right paid? thanks!

Yes, it does sound about right... you will only be paid an ECT wage if you are the ECT at the centre, if not you will be paid as the room leader...

Hi Lorina thanks for the reply. They have now put me as a permanent casual ECT in the centre. What would my pay rate be then? Thanks :)

Hi,

Sorry for my delayed reply.

I am currently writing an article on the ECT Award Wages which will help ECT's in a service determine their wages. So, this will help you to understand your wages, levels etc. This will be available later in the week.

You mentioned that you are a permanent casual within your service? Do you know how long this is for? E.g. 10 weeks or less or more?

How long did your degree take to study as in 2 years, 3 years etc? This determines what level you will be.

hi Lorina, I believe I will be in this role for 10 weeks or less. My grad dip was only a 1 year course.

From my understanding, you would probably be on Level 1:

- Full day pay rate
$231.54

- Half day pay rate
$115.76

- Quarter day pay rate
$57.89

Thanks for the quick response. Im assuming full day means 8 hours? and is this the casual rate? thanks!
