CHCECE017 -Learning Opportunities

Post by melf » Thu Jan 21, 2016 10:48 am

Please can i get some help with the following question? My focus children are 11 months, 2 years and 3 years old.

Task a | Learning Opportunities

This task will require you to plan, implement and critically reflect, three learning opportunities for children of varying ages, within an approved early childhood education and care service. Please provide supporting documentation within your assessment such as: a learning experience plan, photographs, recordings and work samples.

Within your learning opportunities you will need to identify how you have
1. Authentically collaborated with children, families and fellow educators to plan, facilitate and assess the learning opportunities
Could this be communicating with parents or looking at 'All about me' forms to see what the parents expectations are when it comes to their child's learning and development ?
2. Facilitated and supported children’s wellbeing (emotional and psychological development).
By developing an awareness of her interests and setting high buy achievable expectations
3. Encouraged self-help and independence of children, (recognising and honouring their capacity of capability).
Having the opportunity there for the child but allowing her to approach the experience at her on time
4. Nurtured children’s positive self-concept and self esteem
Commend/praise the child on their achievement/s, promoting self esteem
5. Created a safe, inviting environment to encourage children as active and respected citizens, free to express their thoughts, feelings and ideas.
Not sure??
6. Provided real-life experiences for children to engage in that supports the development of their physical skills.
Not sure???

So, more so needing help with 5/6. I will need to repeat this question with the other 2 children. Also not sure what learning oppourunities will work well...
Thanks in advance for anyones help.

Authentically collaborated with children, families and fellow educators to plan, facilitate and assess the learning opportunities

Yes, you could use an All About Me input sheet, My Weekend input sheet, adding children's ideas on the program, providing spontaneous experiences as interests emerge or change etc.
2. Facilitated and supported children’s wellbeing (emotional and psychological development).

Group games, group discussions on "friends", how do you feel when..., exploring feelings, etc.
3. Encouraged self-help and independence of children, (recognising and honouring their capacity of capability).

Child feeding themselves, putting on their own shoes, toilet training, helping to set the table for lunch, packing their own toys away etc.
Created a safe, inviting environment to encourage children as active and respected citizens, free to express their thoughts, feelings and ideas.

Provide choices for play, low shelves for easy accessible materials, add photos on shelves of toys for easy pack away, place images of different culture and people in the room etc.
Provided real-life experiences for children to engage in that supports the development of their physical skills.

Opening locks, shredding and cutting vegetables, setting the table, cooking experience etc.

Hope this gives you an idea,

Hi I am doing this question at the moment and have gathered all the information in observation.
To write this answer do we need to link the observation to meet the requirements or or it's just about the individual answer.
Thanks
