Post by PaigeBradley » Fri Dec 11, 2015 12:16 pm

• What are 2 methods a service can implement to assist in the supervision of every person who enters the service premises?

I currently have "One method to assist in the supervision of everyone who enters the service is to ensure there is a supervision plan in place, by having staff in their dedicated places assists in supervising everyone within the center. "

But im really stuck an don't know, Can anyone help?

- Supervision is an integral part of the care and education of children and requires staff members to make ongoing assessments of the child and the activities in which they are engaged. Active supervision assists in the development of positive relationships between educators, children and their families, and informs ongoing assessment and future planning. Adequate supervision requires teamwork and good communication between educators.

- Keeping a attendance record: Kept by the service to record details of each child attending the service including name, time of arrival and departure, signature of person delivering and collecting the child or of the Nominated Supervisor or educator (Regulation 158(1)).

Ref: Supervision Policy

- Visitor log: Having external people (maintenance, gardeners etc.) to sign in and out as well as record the times of their arrival and departure so staff are aware of who is on the premises. For visitors to be accompanied or to be in sight of other staff at all times.

Hope this helps,
