Scenario: Max - Provide Trauma-Informed Care

Post by Eilleen » Mon Jul 13, 2015 5:03 pm

The question is
Identify one strategy you could use with Maxwell to provide trauma-informed care?

my answer. hope this is right please tell me
Support and promote positive and stable relationships in the life of the child.
Provide support and guidance to the child’s family and caregivers.
We may speak to the mother and explain what happens to her son on the weekends when she is not around.
If all else fails and remembering the welfare of the child is always first and foremost then speak to the director and make a complaint to C.A.R.L
Manage professional and personal stress

This is the last question in this assignment

Marcus (5 years old) usually a happy and busy child participates in lots of activities and also interacts with other children in small groups. Has been attending the centre for over a year and you know him well. Marcus’s mum is a single parent and has started recently going out, often leaving Marcus with relatives and friends. Today Marcus arrives and is crying. Marcus’s uncle smells of alcohol and doesn’t talk to you or the other staff. Marcus says he stayed at his uncle’s house last night while his mum went out. Once the uncle leaves Marcus stops crying, sits in a corner and yells at the other children if they come near to go away
