Lesson Plans, Activities etc.

Post by Steffelz » Wed Mar 07, 2012 2:30 pm

Hey guys, I was just wondering, apart from this site, where could I find ideas for lesson plans/activity plans/Learning experiences that are suitable to use in Australian Kindys?
Are there any books or websites or anything that you could recommend?
Thanks guys :D

HI Steph
You can google heaps of lesson plans.
Some sites I have found useful are Making Learning Fun, Kidssoup, Kinderplans, k-3 teacher resources, little giraffes and Mrs Hubbards cupboard.
See if they are of any use to you.
Wooldridges have some great books under the different learning areas.
Let me know if i can giuve you more info.
I teach Kindy In WA (we are attached to schools and are the year before Pre-Primary/2 years before year 1)
Cheers
:D

Actually Steph
I was reading the magazine the other day and found
something I thought kids would love for story book time.
It was called Abigail, a bunny which talks as you read.

I just tried looking for it again because I had forgotten the name of the book
and was lucky to find it.
Here is the information based on it.

"Meet Abigail, the chatty acrobatic bunny who just can't wait to grow up. Kids will love watching her come to life as you read key words aloud from her books: Her newest book, Abigail and the Fashion Show, comes with an Abigail-sized purse for her to carry. Additional books include Abigail and the Balance Beam (book included), Abigail and the Tea Party and Abigail and the Lost Purse."

So as you can see there is not just one book but something like a series of them.
When reading clearly she tends to make a comment on certain keywords you say.
Now apart from Abigail you can also find other characters such as a dog called Nugget, a racoon called
Watson and a few others who will also o the same as Abigail and come with their own collection of books.

Here is the website if you are interested in seeing it for yourself :)

I hope I've been of assistance to you.
