Hi I am looking for some assistance with my 'Identify children and young people at risk' assignment.
My question:
1 understanding the child has been abused, how would you respond to a child, without leading them, who is struggling to find the words to communicate that they have been the subject of abuse?
2 what should you do in order to protect the privacy of a child or young person with whom you are working?
Thank you in advance!

Re: Looking for some assistance
How amazing that you're seeking help with such a crucial problem! Create a safe and supportive setting with open-ended questions and active listening for your first query. For the second question, limit information sharing to relevant providers and prioritize the child's best interests. Good luck with your homework!

Re: Responding To Abuse and Protecting Child's Privacy
For the first question, it is important to remain calm, listen carefully, and allow the child to speak in their own words without suggesting answers. Open-ended responses such as "Can you tell me more about that?" or "I'm listening" can encourage communication while avoiding leading questions.
For the second question, protecting a child's privacy involves keeping information confidential, sharing details only with authorised professionals when necessary for safeguarding purposes, storing records securely, and respecting the child's dignity throughout the process.
