Good Evening,
I hope someone can assist me with my query.
To provide some background about my professional journey:
I began my career as a trainee in 2013, successfully completing my Certificate III. Subsequently, I obtained my diploma in 2016. I have accumulated nine years of experience as a Nominated Supervisor, coupled with over seven years of experience as an Educational Leader.
Recently, I decided to take a break from my role as a Nominated Supervisor and have transitioned into the position of Assistant Centre Manager at a 100-placement centre. Leveraging my diploma, I have enrolled in an accelerated course to complete a Bachelor's in Early Childhood Education (0-5).
My employer has graciously completed an ECT waiver for me, allowing me to continue my studies while fulfilling my responsibilities as an Assistant Manager.
I have several questions regarding my award level and pay rate:
- What should my award level and pay rate be as an Assistant Centre Manager, considering my extensive experience?
- Does the implementation of the ECT waiver affect my award level and pay rate?
- Will my pay rate change given that I am essentially handling two roles?
- Upon completion of my ECT, what will my level and pay rate be, taking into account my prior experience as a Nominated Supervisor and Educational Leader?
I apologize for the lengthy explanation, but I hope someone can provide the needed clarity.
Thank you in advance for your assistance.

Your pay rate as an Assistant Centre Manager with a diploma and extensive experience should align with higher levels of the relevant award, and dual roles may entitle you to additional pay. The ECT waiver is a temporary measure and does not typically affect your award level. Once you complete your Bachelor’s in Early Childhood Education,Retro Bowl you can negotiate for a top-tier ECT classification or managerial pay, leveraging your prior experience.

I think you have successfully completed the Certificate III which is great. Giving up the ECT will definitely affect the award level and payout ratio but I can’t say for sure. It depends on where you are.Little_smiles wrote: ↑Mon Aug 12, 2024 5:51 pmGood Evening,

Re: Please Help! Award Level and Pay after 10 years Experience
It sounds like you’ve built a really impressive career in early childhood education! Regarding your award level and pay rate, it can vary depending on the specific awards and agreements in place for your role and location, but with your experience and the shift into the Assistant Centre Manager role, you should be looking at a higher pay rate, especially with your qualifications and the dual responsibilities. The ECT waiver might not directly affect your pay level, but it could impact your qualification status in terms of meeting certain requirements for the role. Once you complete your Bachelor's in Early Childhood Education, your pay rate should increase to reflect your new qualifications, and your experience as a Nominated Supervisor and Educational Leader will certainly factor in. It’s always worth discussing directly with your employer or HR to ensure you’re being compensated fairly for the roles you're fulfilling. Best of luck with your studies!
