Employees wages

employees are only doing the work of a level 2 even though they are qualifed with a Diploma (technically level 4) Can you pay at level 2 rates?

Are you referring to Diploma qualified educators doing assistant roles within the room?

What types of duties/responsibilities do they do - just so I get a better understanding as to what their pay should be...

Observe and monitor children's play activities
Keep records on individual children, including daily observations and information about activities, meals served, and medications administered.
Instruct children in health and personal habits such as eating, resting, and toilet habits.
Read to children, and teach them simple painting, drawing, handicrafts, and songs.
participate in recreational activities, such as games.
Assist in preparing food for children and serve meals and refreshments to children and regulate rest periods.
Organize and store toys and materials to ensure order in activity areas.
Dress children and change nappies
Accompany children to and from school,
Support children's emotional and social development, encouraging understanding of others and positive self-concepts
Identify signs of emotional or developmental problems in children and bring them to parents' or guardians' attention.
Sanitize toys and play equipment.
Discipline children and recommend or initiate other measures to control behavior, such as caring for own clothing and picking up toys and books.
Takes photos.
communication with families is not up to standard
There is no program planing, no written observations, she only comes about 5hrs and basically looks after the children's needs etc, feed them, puts them to sleep,etc

Yes she is a Diploma qualified basicly doing an assistants job. I

Yes, Diploma qualified educators are able to do an assistant job. They won't be paid as a room leader they will be paid on level 3.4 which is specifically for a diploma assistant.

A Level 3.4 minimum wage for a Diploma qualified educator with an assistant position is $23.21/full time.
