Post by sueyk » Thu May 09, 2013 4:54 am

hi im a diploma trained educator and Iam just about to take on a trainee. Does anybody know if there are any set guidelines I need to train this trainee. Idont want to be responsible for this person not knowing all that she should during her year.

hope this makes sense.

Usually you should be given information from the institute where the trainee is completing there assignments/modules from. You just need to make sure you support the trainee through their studies, guide their learning and interactions etc. They should also be given a "work placement book" or "on the job assessment" have a look through this and it should give you a better idea to understand what is expected of them.

Hope this helps,
