some children in some cultures may sleep on mats on the floor from a young age and not in cots, beds etc
some cultures will not find boys & girls openly going to the toilet together even at a young age (same with dressing/undressing)
with meals some cultures have certain restrictions (eg. Jews with Kosher food, Muslims with halal food & no pork products) etc so u have to make sure that this is respected
again with clothes some cultures may have certain things that need to be respected eg, strict muslim parents may want their child to never wear clothes that expose too much arm or leg, if at all ... they may want the child (if slightly older) to wear a head scarf
with settling in each child is different u just need to know what works for that particular child

hope this has helped

PRINCIPLE:
older babies need responsive, positive guidance and support to develop emerging self-help skills and educators who are alert to their to their interests and emerging abilities.

DIVA (12 months)
adiva is still very much a 'hands on' eater . sue, the educator, wipes diva's hands with a damp cloth after morning tea
Sue notices diva offers her other hand without prompting. She's learning the routine! the toddlers are given a damp cloth that they use to 'clean up ' their face and hands before they go to the bathroom to wash their hands.

question is how is the principle been demonstrated?

(: thanks :)
