1. The 4 components of the National Quality Framework are listed below. Explain how each component influences an educator’s practice in an education and care setting.
• National Law Act 2010
The national law act influences educator's practice in an education and care setting because it sets out:
- Approval processes for the operation of education and care services
- Key operational requirements
- Requirements regarding publication of information, including registers
- The functions and powers of regulatory authorities in each jurisdiction
• National Regulations 2011
The national regulations influences an educator's practice because it sets out:
- application process for:
- supervisor certifications
- minimum operational requirements organised around each of the seven quality areas of the national quality standard
- application process for review of decisions
- the process for the rating and assessment of education and care services against the national quality standard, including the rating levels
• National Quality Standards
The national quality standards influences an educator's practice in an education and care setting because it brings together seven key quality areas that are important to outcomes for children. It gives educator's and families a better understanding of a quality service.
• Approved Early Learning Frameworks
Approved early learning frameworks influence an educator's practice in an education and care setting because they help to expand and improve children's learning from birth and through to the transition to school. It assists educator's to offer children opportunities to maximise their potential and develop a foundation for future success in learning.
