CHCCN302A - Hazards On Introducing First Foods To Children

Post by danielle96 » Fri Sep 26, 2014 8:04 pm

Your Assignment Module Number and Heading: CHCCN302A Provide care for children
Your Assignment Type: Standard Question
Currently Working in Childcare? No
Your knowledge: Beginner

Your Question?
What are potential hazards involved in introducing new and/or first foods to children? When should solid food be introduced to a young child?

What is your answer so far or What have you done so far as an attempt to solve this question?
For the first part of the question so far I can only think of choking for being a hazard, but not sure what else? Have googled but can only find the foods to avoid and how to serve them etc.

and as for when solids should be introduced I'm pretty sure it's around 6 months, depending on how the child in particular is developing.

Description and Message:
My answer is supposed to be about 200 words so the more information I have the better!
Any input appreciated :)
