Thousands of families are reportedly impacted by the cyberattack that attacked one of Victoria's biggest childcare providers, Guardian Childcare.
Guardian Childcare informed all of its visitors that identity documents had been taken and the centre's IT systems had been compromised.
"Following an extensive investigation of the incident, we have become aware that a scanned image of the ID document you provided at the time of your visit may have been compromised by the attacker," an email sent by the childcare provider stated.
In accordance to the Guardian, their examination revealed that no more data had been exposed. The are over sixty facilities that collectively serve thousands of families.
According to Guardian, it strengthened its systems and notified the authorities of the incident.
