To help Educators understand some more of the ‘who, what, when, where and why’ of the Referendum and Treaty, and how to discuss a First Nations Voice and Treaty with children, Community Child Care has asked Aunty Geraldine Atkinson if she would kindly share her knowledge with everybody, through an online webinar.
Aunty Geraldine is a Bangerang and Wiradjuri woman, President of the Victorian Aboriginal Education Association Incorporated (VAEAI) and the Co-chair of the First Peoples' Assembly of Victoria; the body that oversees the development of a Treaty in Victoria.
Aunty Geraldine will cover:
- How the Uluru Statement from the Heart is an invitation to the people of Australia
- What the proposition of the Referendum will be
- How the First Peoples' Assembly of Victoria demonstrates that a Voice can be successful
