CHCCS400C - Handling Complaints Against An Educator

Post by kezlez » Thu Aug 27, 2015 6:31 pm

Hi lorina, just a bit of help with this question please.

CHCCS400C - Q) how to handle a parents complaint against an educator?
A) I would inform the parent that I would follow all policies and procedures and ask her to come to a private place (office) where I could have a private conversation with her away from other parents and children. The parent would be informed of the complaints process and she would be informed that she would be treated with respect and courtesy and have the complaint dealt with in a confidential and timely manner,
My question is how to respond to the educator and who would I share this info with.
Thanks Kez

If a parent has a complaint against an educator, you will need to let the Director know. It's probably best not to go to the educator involved directly and let the Director manage it, once the parent follows the complaints procedure...

This will also help:

FAMILY AND STAFF COMMUNICATION,FEEDBACK AND COMPLAINTS PROCEDURE (page 67 or scroll down until you find this heading).
