CHCPRT001 - NURTURING AND ETHICAL PRACTICE

Post by mummapayne09 » Mon May 11, 2015 11:46 am

Hi all,

I am just about finished with this unit, hopefully. But one question I am stuck on. Give an example of Ethical practice and Nurturing practice when working with young children.

I have read and read lots, but just can not come up with an example.

I do not work in a centre.

My answer so far if I am on the right track...

Ethical Practice - Jimmy's Mother has advised the centre that Jimmy is to say Prayer at 11 am each day. Jimmy comes to care Monday, Thursday and Friday. Educators have been briefed on the prayer and time that this is to happen. At 11 am on the days Jimmy attends, a staff member sits with Jimmy on the mat and they say Prayer. It is explained to children that Jimmy needs to say his Prayer as it is a part of his religion.
Nurturing Practice - Lola was running along the pavement and fell over. She is quite upset and crying. And educator would go up to her, and in a soft gentle voice, talk to her, and calm her down, educators can offer cuddles to help take the tears away, as well as using tissues to wipe the tears away. Taking Lola over to clean any grazes or boo boos that happened whilst she fell if any.

Would this be acceptable or am I totally off track

Thanks Rach
