Re: CHCIC301D - How to value Individuality and Differences in children
Hi Fangaz,
Some ideas on how to value individuality and differences in children are:
- During group time talk about the physical traits of the children in the group. Some children have black hair, some children have blonde hair, straight hair, curly hair etc... By acknowledging and valuing the diverse physical traits this can help children to appreciate diversity.
- Sings songs, say words in children's home language other than english.
- Display a family photo wall and get the children to discuss who is in their family.
- Have the children's parent/family member come in and demonstrate a cooking experience of their favorite meal that all the children can try.
- Get to know and learn about each family and their culture by talking to parents and including ideas and input into the program.
Hopefully this should give you a few ideas,
Cheers ,
