Educational Leader - Understanding Of Quality Area 7.1.4

Post by Sofiasal » Thu Feb 19, 2015 1:01 pm

Hi,

I am the educational leader of a childcare centre in Sydney, just needing some help with "devising goals for teaching and learning". Quality Area 7 , 7.1.4. Im not sure whether this means goals for the educators or goals for the children in the rooms? Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Thank You

'Provision is made to ensure a suitably qualified and experienced educator or co-ordinator leads the development of the curriculum and ensures the establishment of clear goals and expectations for teaching and learning.'

In terms of goals and expectations, these can be teacher goals (I want the children to learn...) as well as goals established WITH and BY children in terms of their own learning (through reflective practice). So in answer to your question it is both (goals set by the educator and the children). It is imperative that we include children in planning their learning!
