Changes to Supervisor Certificate Application

Post by Cazzie07 » Mon Oct 20, 2014 9:20 pm

Hello,

Just wondering if anyone knows if I would have a chance of getting approved for a supervisor certificate.

I have 2 years experience working with children in a centre.

I have approx 1 year exp as a coordinator, coordinating child care educators

And approx 2 years experience working for an education company as a manager (not a child care service- school tuition).

I am also studying my Diploma.

When considering my experience combined with me working towards a Diploma do you think I would have a chance of approval?

In June 2014 the regulatory authority made changes to the supervisor application process. Rather than an individual educator applying for a supervisor certificate every approved centre has been granted a service supervisor certificate. Any person within the service who has been selected for the responsible day to day running of the service or taking on a leadership role for part of the service is covered under the service supervisor certificate.

For example, if the service director is responsible for day to day management of the service, they can be covered under the service supervisor certificate. Similarly, a room leader who is responsible for supervising part of the service can also be covered by the service supervisor certificate.

Here is some more information on this:

Hope this helps,
