Today is Earth day. Earth Day is about raising awareness about the importance of protecting our planet and taking action. As a parent, you have the opportunity to spark a passion in kids that will drive them to do their part to take care of the Earth.

• Buy a reusable bottle, preferably one that has a filter attached to it, so you’ll be getting fresh water every time.

• Turn off light.

• Spend time outside. If you have a backyard, spend the afternoon outdoors reading, having lunch, or just taking in deep breaths of the fresh air.

Apart from the above mentioned, children can celebrate The earth day in the following ways:

Children can go for a beach cleaning trip.

Can plant saplings in the backyard.

Can make a recycle pot where food scrap can be gathered and, with the help of elders can transform into organic fertilizer.

Can make rest place for birds by hanging birdseed in a pot.

Can go on a campaign for not using of plastic staffs.

Actually, it is very important to spread awareness about environmental issues affecting our planet and which become very prominent over the last few years, different issues like climate change, global warming, etc. So, an activity by which children can feel connected to mother earth and can perform some goodness to mother earth can be performed on Earth Day.
