Developing a nurturing relationship with Katherine.

At Forrest Early Learning Centre we assign an educator to each new baby. The primary role of an educator is to care and support your child. Here is a few strategies for Katherine to ensure consistency of care and provide a rich environment.

1. Physical active. Playing with balls. Sit on the floor with Katherine roll it back and forth. Also show how the ball can bounce. It will be great to see if she throws it back to the educator.

2. Physical active. Placing Bom Bom’s in to a water bottle. Katherine will learn picking up, placing and poking small objects with her thumb and fingers.

3. Physical Comfort. Tickle and actions song games during group time. Like round round, teddy bear teddy bear, this little piggy. Also continuing Katherine’s sleep ritual of being told “very tired, time for bed”

4. Meal ritual in Kitchen play. Set up on a small table and let Katherine explore the different meal objects (plates, spoons, cups).

5. Nappy change time is a Personal Care routines. This develops a sense of security and trust.
