Father demands to give his child more attention

A father has noticed that his child can not still write his name, and he feels we are not giving his son enough attention, and demands that we start teaching his child how to write, count and read. He accuses us Of just letting his child play all day...what strategies would I use to reach a common and agreed understanding.

I have written this so far:
I would listen to the father and ensure my conversation is friendly and sensitive to his needs/concerns and respond to his questions and requests in a prompt and courteous way. I would respond according to my centres policies and procedures and seek a jointly-decided answer. I would explain that we follow a programme with all of our children.

Now I'm stuck with what else to say, any help would be appreciated.

That's a good start! You could also explain what play based learning is and provide examples of the learning opportunities the child participates in throughout the day. Show the parent the program, explain the activities and what goals the child achieves through participation of these experiences...
