Is Constant Staff Turnover Becoming Normal in Childcare Centres?

Post by helengrace » Sat Apr 18, 2026 2:43 pm

Hi everyone,
I’ve been working in childcare for a while and lately I’ve noticed staff seem to come and go constantly. At my centre, educators leave, new people start, then a few months laterwacky flip they’re gone too. It feels like there’s no stability anymore.

I’m wondering if this is becoming normal across the industry or if it’s just my centre. Is it low pay, burnout, management issues, or something else causing so much turnover?
I worry about how it affects children too, especially with attachment and consistency when they keep seeing familiar educators leave.

How are you dealing with it? Thank for sharing.
