Supervising and Engaging With Children During Mealtimes

Post by Eilleen » Sun May 24, 2015 2:37 pm

I am a little stuck on this one.
Question is 2. Explain at least four ways in which you can supervise and engage with this child during mealtimes:

I have for Supervise this child
Sitting and eat with the child

For engaging with the child
1 Talk with them in a friendly, relaxed way.
2 I can increase socialisation by making small conversations with children and to remind them that they should finish what is in their mouth first before speaking 3 I can sit with the children and model safe and hygienic table manners

Please help thankyou in advance.

Yeah that's a good start!

You could also talk about what they are eating, identify the different colours and vegetables.
Talk about what types of foods they eat at home.
Make sure each child is sitting correctly on their chair and they are tucked in under the table.
Encourage children to use the utensils correctly by role modelling yourself.
Keep cups above bowls/plates to avoid them being knocked over.

Hope these help,

Explain how you would cater for children’s clothing preference to include prevailing weather conditions.?

Can you help me with the above question.

So this question is asking about children's clothing preference during weather conditions.

For example, if it's a cold day, a child could wear layers so they could remove jumper etc. as they get hot.

For a warmer day, a child wearing a long sleeve could have a cotton t-shirt to change into if it gets too hot.

For a raining day, a child could should have a waterproof jacket available to wear.

Hope this helps!
