Your Assignment Module Number and Heading: CHCRF301E - Work effectively with parents to care for a child
Your Assignment Type: Case Scenario
Currently Working in Childcare? Yes
Your knowledge: Beginner

Your Question?
Can anyone give me some ideas/help on this scenario please….

If you believe that a child in your care has behavioural or health problems that require further attention, detail the actions you would take, ensuring that proper procedures are followed and accommodation for cultural difference (if necessary) is made. If these issues are outside of your expertise or if parents request that the centre take actions that are not within its parameters, what should you do? How would you ensure that the communication with these parents is culturally appropriate?

What is your answer so far or What have you done so far as an attempt to solve this question?
So far the only thing I can get out of the reading I have done is that if it is outside our expertise then we should refer parents to professional help.

There is a government agency called Inclusion Support that support centres and families deal with issues like these. I'd contact them...

http://education.gov.au/inclusion-and-p ... rt-program

However before contacting them, it's probably best to provide evidence. This can be taking a variety of different observation methods to assist family and others in understanding behavioural or health problems that the child may have.

Hope this helps,
