HLTWHS300A - Scenario: Bucket and Mop Left Out

Post by Lillypad88 » Sat Feb 01, 2014 10:04 pm

Your Assignment Module Number and Heading: Activity 26 (HLTWHS300A) 26.3
Your Assignment Type: Standard Question
Currently Working in Childcare? No
Your knowledge: Beginner

Your Question?
Hello,
Imagine you are the first to arrive at your Service and you notice there is a bucket with a mop left over from the day before in the front foyer.

What is your answer so far or What have you done so far as an attempt to solve this question?
I'm required to fill out a table and I am unsure what they mean when they say Assess the risk, who and when and reassess the risk, could any help please?

What is your answer so far or What have you done so far as an attempt to solve this question?
I have identified the hazard as "mop and bucket left out"
and
Control "put the mop and bucket back in the cupboard where it belongs"
Thank you so much
Lilly

HI there
For this question you not only need to write what it was eg; mop and bucket left out, but also what the risks of this are: such as someone tripping over bucket, or dirty water spilling on floor causing slipping risk. You would also need this to be reported. Plus as you said, state what you would do (and do it) such as put away. Generally I think it is also how can we ensure this does not happen again type scenario.
(I am actually a Kindy teacher not a childcare educator) so I may not be 100% when it comes to childcare scenarios but this is what we would do. :)
