The NSW Government is rolling out free health checks for 4-year-old children at their preschool or long day care service to make it easier for families to get health and development checks for their children.

As of today, 8th December 2024, Food Standard Code 3.2.2A updates have now come into effect for NSW Early Childhood Services. This means that all early learning services that prepare and serve meals to children require food safety training for all food handlers and a food safety supervisor onsite. 

On Wednesday 19th July, a preschooler from regional New South Wales was supposed to be dropped off at their childcare centre in the morning, but she was instead left alone on the bus for four hours before someone noticed her.
