4.6% Increase To Children's Services Award and Educational Services Teachers Award From 01 July 2022 Writing Riot

The Fair Work Commission has announced a 4.6% increase in minimum wages following its 2022 Annual Wage Review. The increase will apply to base rates of pay from the first full pay period starting on or after 1 July 2022.

This means for Educators and ECTs receiving the minimum wage set out in the Children's Services Award 2010, or the Educational Services Teachers Award 2010 the 4.6% increase will apply.

For example:

  • A Cert 3 Qualified Educator (Level 3.1 - full time) who currently receives $23.67 per hour, as of 01 July it increases to around $24.75 per hour.
  • A Diploma Qualified  Assistant Educator (Level 3.4 - full time) who currently received $26.66 per hour, as of 01 July it increases to around $27.88 per hour.
  • A Diploma Qualified Educator (Level 4.1 - full time) who currently received $27.88 per hour, as of 01 July it increases to around $29.16 per hour.

For Educators receiving above award wages, which means you are paid higher than the minimum award rate set out in either the Children's Services Award 2010 or Educational Services Teachers Award 2010, then you will NOT be receiving this increase.
