Students Counted In Ratio

Post by allyg94 » Sun Aug 27, 2017 6:40 pm

Hi,
Quick question!

I remember reading somewhere awhile back that Students are counted in ratios, but i can't remember where and can't find it, so i'm beginning to think i dreamt it!

By student i mean placement students, people who are doing their hours from TAFE or another training school but aren't being paid.
Thanks in advance!

I don't think that information is right.

Students who are volunteering their time are not counted in the ratio, but they can be used when the center does an excursion as an extra set of hands, Ratio still need to be kept. I believe this goes for support workers as well. They are there for one child and don't get counted in ratios.

No students are not part of any ratio... they are at the centre to observe and gain some hands on experiences... they should never be left along with children...
