Post by new student » Thu Dec 27, 2012 11:44 pm

Your Assignment Module Number and Heading: CHCCS400A - Work within a relevant legal and ethical Framework
Your Assignment Type: Standard Question
Currently Working in Childcare? No
Your knowledge: Beginner

Your Question?
1. Identify and discuss the key requirements of the service/centre policies and legislations that relate to the performance of your work role and where/how to access same.

What is your answer so far or What have you done so far as an attempt to solve this question?
Hi everyone,
Just new to this site and this is my first assignment.I just don't seem to understand the question.I have read through all the reading material my institute provided me.
When they say "policies and legislations that relate to the performance of your work role" ,does that mean policies and the accompanying procedures from your workplace and what is meant by"where/how to access same"?
Any thoughts on the question will be gratefully accepted.

When working in childcare we must adhere to the centre's policies and procedures manual which is a list of documents under legislation and regulatory requirements that guides us in our decisions. The policy and procedure manual provide us with an outline and procedure to follow when working in the centre. Such as: administering medications, sun safety, guiding behavior, food handling etc. These policies and procedures are all related to our work role when working with children and we must read and follow them in order to do our job appropriately and ethically.

On where and how to access them they are available at every early childhood setting. If you need to provide some samples of policies and procedures for this question try googling "policies and procedures early childhood" and you should be able to see from there.

Hopefully this helps,
