Pay for Masters graduate

Post by wwy0011 » Thu Sep 10, 2020 6:30 pm

Hello everyone,

I am a fresh Masters graduate. I completed my Masters in Teaching (Early Childhood Education) in July. I'm now looking around and applying for jobs and was just wondering what should I be expecting or what should I tell my potential employers my expected salary is.

From my understanding it's about $77k per year if I'm teaching in a DoE School. However I'm not sure what the rates are if I were to teach in a Early Learning Centre? :)

Thank you!

Best regards,
Rachel

Hi!

When working in a childcare centre as an ECT of the service you will start at Level 4 of the pay scale and work your way up per year of experience. This also takes in your postgraduate degree you have completed.

Level 4 starts at $29.86 per hour full time.

Hope this helps!

Hi there,

How amazing it is that you have got your Master of Teaching (Early Childhood Education and Care). It is what I am considering to do too. Can you tell me which state you studied your Master? How were the units? Have you got a job as a teacher now? I would like to get connected with you to understand more. Thank you very much!

Kind regards,
Angie
