Hey Everyone,

It's time to begin school readiness, so I thought I'd share an idea...

When the preschoolers arrive in the morning, they have to order morning tea and afternoon tea from "the canteen". We set up our food area into a "canteen". Each morning we give the children an order form. They have to write their name and choose what fruit they would like to have and then a choice of two snacks.

At morning tea and afternoon tea, we call each child and they receive their order. During November we get the children to bring in their own lunch boxes and fill up their lunch boxes for lunch.

Get the children to recognize or practice writing their name by encouraging to write or trace their name on their art, drawings, etc. For a transition idea, laminate each child's name, hold their name up, once child recognizes their name they can move onto the next task etc.
