Kirra (2.2 yrs( has little discipline at home. She has been allowed to dominate both her parents and as a result has become extremely demanding. If she does not get her own way she will scream and tantrum. She does not have a sleeping and eating routine as her parents said they were sick of fighting her so now they simply allow her to eat and sleep as she wishes. At child care her behaviour is becoming increasingly difficult to manage. She resists any attempt to get her into a routine and spends most of the day screaming.
With reference to the Behaviour Management Policy how you would address this issue?
What is your answer so far or What have you done so far as an attempt to solve this question?
Okay so this is what I have so far.
Sit down with Kirra's parents, and agree on a plan for disciplining Kirra. Give Kirra 3 warnings before she is placed in time out, also let her know that if she is put in time out we will have to tell mummy that you weren't very good today and mum will take away one of your toys. Encourage Kirra to behave well and she will get given her toy back.
That way Kirra will then understand that if she is miss behaving she does not benefit from it, and will loose things as a result. And will be rewarded for good behaviour.
I'm not sure if I'm on the right track or not with this answer?

When dealing with behavior in childcare you can't use time out as a strategy in managing behavior. It's not an appropriate way in managing the child's behavior (no matter how bad it is).
