Activities of teaching aboriginal language

Post by Charlie2019 » Sun Nov 04, 2018 6:08 pm

Hi,
My age group is toddler 18months-30months. During and after the NAIDOC week we used to do arts, listen to didgeridoo music, talk about difference and similarities between different culture people, etc. children loved it. But it seemed that dream time stories(we tried use books, playing on tablet...) were too long for their attention span, so we didn't continue the stories.

Now i am planning to introduce some rhymes, or words for the toddlers, but can't find resources of the Woiwurrung Words(that Wurundjeri people speak). so please can anyone share ideas of how you teach toddlers about aboriginal culture and languages?

i googled a song which preschoolers performed, thinking if its appropriate to sing it to children for inviting group time? Welcome to share any comments or ideas.
